OpenWRT on an ALIX

Usually I run pfSense on my various ALIX boards for network purposes. But for the ALIX2D2, the version with two MiniPCI slot and two NICs, I decided to let it run with OpenWRT. There were two reasons for that: First I’m curious how much progress OpenWRT has made of the past years. Back in the days we used the Freifunk firmware for the network. And second how it runs on an ALIX board because I only used OpenWRT on the Fonera and the famous Linksys WRTG(x).

The installation is straight-forward and well documented on the OpenWrt wiki.
