IP cam and RTSP

A while ago I bought a used Levelone IP network camera. The usage of an USB cam to observe the cat with motion was not that handy.

The IP cam was cheap and now I know why. The embedded web server of the cam provides a web gui which make use of a really crappy plugin. This plugin is not running smoothly on Windows and on Linux is even worth but Firefox is at least showing an image while on Windows there is only a black square.

The good news are that the camera is supporting RTSP. According to the SoleraTec website the address is: rtsp://[IP-Address]/channel1. Works fine with vlc.
