    Hello Sir ,every time I start the program python highlight the word “import” with error message
    ” SyntaxError: invalid syntax” I am using Python 2.7.3 and moved pyserial folder to Python27\Lib\site-packages\pyserial-2.6 , and install it there via “dos” command

  2. Sorry, what do you mean by “dos” command? pyserial is available in most distributions and installable with the provided package management tools (yum, apt-get, apk). Start python in a terminal to check your installation:

    $ python
    Python 2.7.5 (default, Aug 22 2013, 09:31:58)
    [GCC 4.8.1 20130603 (Red Hat 4.8.1-1)] on linux2
    Type "help", "copyright", "credits" or "license" for more information.
    >>> import serial
    >>>

    If there is an error, check your pyserial installation.
